When: Monday September 14, 6:30 p.m.

Where: In front of Rosemère town hall

*** COVID-19: bring your mask and respect public health rules ***

On Monday September 14 at 6.30 p.m., join us in front of Rosemere’s town hall for a special citizens’ gathering to signal our commitment and interest in the protecton and renaturalization of the former golf course. Last June, the municipal council of the City of Rosemère presented its vision for urban development, which involves the destruction of 50% of this site for real estate development and the creation of a road.

More than 2800 signatories, including 500 Rosemerites, have already expressed their opinions on this. The Mayor has unfortunately trivialized the voices of citizens while the city continues to negotiate with promoters. Developers are working to obtain a zoning change to build residences on 50% of the old golf course while the current zoning only allows building on 10% of the land.

Our ask is as follows:

  • That the mayor and council adequately and transparently consult the population of Rosemere, that they be open to discussions and that they propose scenarios for maintaining the current zoning (public / recreational) on 90% of the land.

  • That there be an end to the secret negotiations between the developer and the city.

  • That the mayor and council act transparently and present all relevant data and information about the future of the golf course.

We’re calling on neighbours and citizens: let’s make ourselves heard! Join us on the 14th!
