Exhibition area

The volunteers of Rosemère Vert are pleased to present a photo exhibition created by Rosemère artists who are amazed by the biodiversity that can be observed on our territory. Indeed, the green spaces that surround us, such as the site of the former golf course, Miller Marsh, Tylee Marsh and the Grand Coteau forest, constitute privileged habitats for several species. Twenty-two of these, some with precarious status, are presented in this exhibition.

We believe that protecting biodiversity is a desire dear to the hearts of Rosemère residents and we hope that this exhibit will help you realize the richness of the life forms that share our environment and the importance of protecting more green spaces, such as the former golf course, which constitute their habitat.

Cities have an important role to play. Data shows that wildlife has declined by 70% over the past 50 years (WWF, 2022). The main reasons for this include habitat loss and climate change (Nature Québec, 2022). Thus, planting trees in the city, restoring wetlands and habitats are concrete actions that must be taken to ensure the preservation of species. The protection of the former golf course is part of this perspective.

This exhibition will travel through our city to allow all residents of Rosemère to appreciate the incredible biodiversity that coexists with us!
